The saying goes that “you don’t mess with Texas.” We’re going to take that to heart, and kick off our state-by-state Top GIF series with them. Texas is known for many things: Cowboys, Football, Cowboys Football, Tex-Mex, and more - but not necessarily GIFs. However, the lone star state is actually a big fan of all the GIFs, being our #1 location (thanks Texas!). To thank them - we took a look at their state’s favorite GIF hashtags for the past month, proving that everything’s bigger in Texas - even the GIFs.
10) Bacon
Bacon is to Texas as avocado is to California; avoiding it would be far too much work. And it’s super delicious, even in GIF form.
9) Sassy
When you think of Texas, you don’t think of individuals that beat around the bush. Some might consider them sassy, but they think of themselves as just honest.
8) Hungover
Texas is a state that can appreciate a cold one, or twelve every once in a while. In such cases (beer pun intended), these GIFs are appropriate to communicate what words can’t - especially since you’re too busy being hunched over in the fetal position somewhere.
7) Beyonce
America’s royalty calls this state home, and to be honest, I’m surprised she hasn’t been appointed mayor or governor of the entire state yet. Either way, Texas salutes you Queen B.
6) Finger Guns
A GIF to make em reach for the skies. No Texan is complete without a good set of finger guns.
5) Haters Gonna Hate
Part of being a Texan is dealing with all the haters who just wish they were a Texan.
4) Let Me Love You
I got nothing for this one. Maybe Texas has a large Kevin Lyttle fan club? We all long for someone on those star-filled, Texas nights.
3) Mind blown
There are tons of mind-blowing things about Texas. The weirdness of Austin. The size of Houston. And the deep fried-ness of the state fair in Dallas. These GIFs sum all those things up.
2) Awkward
Texans have a culture and language all their own. As such, it can make for some funny interactions with outsiders. In these cases, fellow Texans may communicate the awkwardness accordingly.
1) I’m Fabulous
Cowboy boots, ten-gallon hats, big cars, big horses, and all be-dazzled everything. And (again) Beyonce. What GIF could possibly say more?

A GIF is more than just a moving image with no sound (sorry Adam, still working on this) - it’s an emotion, a reaction, and a declaration of - well anything you want.
GIFs are the perfect two-birds-one-stone to simultaneously express yourself and your superior pop-culture knowledge or sense of humor. The perfect GIF is kind of like seeing a sunrise or your first In-N-Out burger: you can’t really describe it in words, it’s just good.
Since launching GIF GIF GIF, our users have searched and favorited millions of GIFs with us. And while we know every GIF is special in its own way (like the Kardashians) - there are some that definitely rise to the top (…also kind of like the Kardashians, I guess). We decided to take a look at what your favorite GIF hashtags are, and maybe shine a light on the human range of GIF-motions.
10) YES
When a word isn’t enough. Even the simplest of words. If you’re accepting or acknowledging the rightness of something, why not add a GIF for a little extra excitement.
9) Oh Snap
Kevin just told Sarah off, but Sarah ROASTED Kevin right back. So Kevin retaliated by bringing up a secret about Sarah that only he knew, and now Sarah is pissed. At this point, you have no choice but to interject with an “Oh Snap” GIF.
8) Facepalm
Since the sarcasm font has yet to be invented, and emojis still don’t express your shame properly, the facepalm GIF is a good solution. These shame-filled gems are always fun, whether it be for yourself or for your friends idiotic replies.
7) Eye Roll
Very similar to the facepalm, the eye roll is exclusively reserved for the judgment of others - giving it the slight bump in our rankings. These GIFs are for when “you can’t even,” and need to express your distaste for a decision.
6) Happy Dance
This GIF does the job that exclamation points and all-caps can’t accomplish on their own. These GIFs are reserved for moments of utmost joy and excitement. When only the ridiculous physical movement of others can suffice.
5) Kiss
Ah the sweet smell of GIF romance. The kiss-face emoji is a classic, but even the classics need to be revamped once in a while. Either way, the kiss GIF is an easy way into bae’s heart and out of the dreaded friend zone.
4) Crying
In case you didn’t pack a lunch for the feels trip, our crying GIFs can communicate the proper feels. Best part is that you don’t even have to cry IRL, kind of how “LOL” made it so you don’t even have to laugh in real life. We’re changing the world people.
3) Excited
The anticipation is too much. You’ve sent so many tweets and texts in all caps that your friends are mistaking you for P. Diddy or The Kid Mero. The excitement can now only be expressed in GIF form. It’s more entertaining, and less straining on your caps lock.
2) LOL
The Marlon Brando of internet language. All must bow to the Godfather of digital acronyms. While “LOL” may have lost some luster after a solid two decades of overuse, GIFs are helping to bring it back in the most semi-serious way.
1)Middle Finger
It only makes sense that this would be number one right? There’s no emoji for it, the actual words are too harsh, and there’s too many amazing examples of it in every context imaginable. It can be shaken off or laughed at while still maintaining its original intent. The bird is a special GIF alright, so special that it takes our overall #1 spot! We just wish you guys all weren’t so angry.

You know that Loverboy song “Working For The Weekend,” from the 80s? Kind of sums up GIF GIF GIF last week.
ICYMI, late last Friday we released our 3.0 version of everybody’s favorite GIF app. We loaded this version with updates and new features for a fantastic GIF-ing experience. Here’s a breakdown of what we added into this brand spanking new version.
Collections
The crown jewel of our 3.0 update, and the feature we’re most excited to build into the app. We knew how much you guys loved favoriting and saving GIFs so that they were always ready to share. The idea was to build a feature where you could organize, sort, share, and follow the GIFs you love. Simply put, we built Collections to make favoriting GIFs even more fun, easy, and creative.
Whether you want a collection of your favorite sports teams or of dogs being weird, you can get as crazy as you want with collections. Organize and save GIFs however you see fit, and still have them ready to share - both through our app and keyboard. We’ve also added in the ability to follow collections, both created by us and your fellow GIFers.
Because of this ability to get creative with collections, we wanted create a space in our app where we can showcase your work for all to see. The result is the new Featured Collections portion of our home screen, showcasing the best (and weirdest) collections you guys create. So get to work!
Profiles
To ensure you never lose those glorious GIF collections, we added in optional user profiles. No crazy profile images, headers, or “about me” sections for this - we just wanted something quick and easy so you could focus on what really matters: the GIFs!
The Rest of the Goodies
Outside of the major collections feature, we wanted to add little details and bug fixes to enhance the GIF GIF GIF experience. Like our new gif3.me share url; making sure friends and followers can get in on the GIF GIF GIF fun. The link will take them to a custom share page, just for your GIF or Collection.
The keyboard also got tuned up for better performance, and we added in our brand spanking new collections feature so that all your GIFs are ready. While most GIF apps or keyboards are picking one or the other, we’re more of a “why not both,” kind of app.
It’s been a blast working on this version, and we’re super excited to see how you use collections to keep your favorite GIFs ready.

Today is an awesome day for our users and the must-have-the-latest-and-greatest-tech fans around the internet. This is because today we’ve released a new version of GIF GIF GIF, officially called version 2.1. Our update has a few major components: the big one being Apple Watch compatibility!
Yes, this is real life. You’re not dreaming (but if you are, thanks for letting our blog into your subconscious). Our Apple Watch app makes the best parts of GIF GIF GIF even easier. Not only can you search and favorite GIFs right from your spanking new Apple Watch, but you can even set an official Watch GIF to be seen at a glance. We’re pumped to see what you think of the app when the Watch is available on April 24th. GIF GIF GIF will be there from day one for all of your GIF-tastic needs.

Welcome to the GIF GIF GIF blog!
For those of you already using our app, you’re great. For those of you who don’t have it yet - well come on bud, go download it now!
The GIF GIF GIF team is pumped to be launching this blog as a place where we can share all the stories, updates, and weirdness that goes along with the GIF GIF GIF app.
I really wasn’t kidding about the weirdness.
GIF GIF GIF was a simple goal. We wanted to build an app where every great GIF was waiting for you to discover and share. A reaction, an emotion, your favorite celebrity, or athlete - all in their “GIF-tastic” glory.
After seeing how people were using the first version of GIF GIF GIF, we quickly realized that users wanted a faster way to share the GIFs they were finding. We then built the GIF GIF GIF Keyboard, as a natural way for users to share GIFs from their keyboard that they were finding in our app.
The point is, we’ve been so focused on building a great app, that we haven’t had much time to share our story. So far, we’ve received loads of amazing feedback and comments from our users. We’ve been listening, and we’re excited to be rolling out some new updates to the app very soon.
This isn’t going to be your typical mobile app blog with the usual “new updates” posts. We’ll be putting together fun lists of our Top GIFs and sharing some of the weirder ones we come across. Basically, we want a place where our users can come get weird with us.
